TACAN-only aircraft

TACAN-only aircraft
An aircraft, normally military, possessing TACAN (tactical air navigation) with DME (distance-measuring equipment) but no VOR (very high frequency omnidirectional radio range) navigational system capability. Clearances must specify TACAN or VORTAC (very high frequency omnidirectional radio range tactical air navigation) fixes and approaches, although many TACAN and VORTAC stations are co-located.
